“The MATCHFIT Reversed Dovetail Bit creates a reverse profile that locates and holds MATCHFIT clamp heads for template routing operations. This option allows for using materials as thin as 3/8” (9.5mm) for easier template making. The MATCHFIT clamps can hold the template below the stock for router table use or can clamp both the template and the part to a work surface for hand routing.
The bit can also be used on top of existing dovetail grids or other shop-built workpieces to clamp them to tables, counters or sawhorses without needing regular dovetail grooves cut into the bottom of the board. This allows easier clamping of 3/4″” (19mm) thick dovetail grids without the risk of overlapping grooves or weakened boards.

Clever use of the Reversed Dovetail Bit also allows for making matched grooves and profiles for making slides and other simple joinery. The Reversed Dovetail Bit features MicroJig’s patented Radius Flair at the top of the cutter for smooth cuts and virtually no tear out. It comes with a 1/4” shank and works with all MATCHFIT Clamps.”
